Accomplished Banker Reunites with Proven Team as CEO of Worthington Bank’s Denton Location

Fort Worth, TEXAS (Feb. 12, 2024) – Established North Texas banking leader Tony Clark has been tapped as CEO of Worthington Bank’s newest location in Denton, Texas, and will be serving on the Bank’s board of directors. Clark’s addition to the Denton team cements a reunion as he rejoins a team he has worked with for 30 years and counting.

“It is fantastic to work with this dedicated group of professionals again. Banking in Texas is all about building strong, lasting relationships and the team at Worthington Bank is ready to build those with the businesses and people of Denton,” said Clark.

While Worthington Bank is new to the Denton area, the bankers are not. Clark has provided financial services in Denton since 1993. Worthington Bank President Debbie Irby-Rhoads started her career in Denton in 1989 and Denton is the hometown of Commercial Loan Officer Tracey Long who started her career in 2012. Together they form a trio dedicated to serving business leaders in Denton and North Texas. External of financial services, Clark currently sits on the board of the City of Denton Economic Development Partnership and Long is highly involved with the United Way of Denton County and the Denton Chamber of Commerce.

Before joining Worthington Bank, Clark served as the Executive Vice President at the Independent Bank of Texas where he oversaw 14 Texas locations and assets exceeding $1 billion. Clark joined the Independent Bank of Texas after it acquired North Star Bank of Texas, a bank of which Clark was a founding member and first worked with Irby-Rhoads. At the time of the acquisition, Clark and his team built North Star Bank of Texas to over 40 locations throughout Texas and Colorado with assets amounting to approximately $2.5 billion.

Worthington Bank’s Denton location opened in August 2023, offering checking, savings, money market accounts, and loans to businesses and consumers. Worthington Bank was acquired by BancFirst in BancFirst Corporation is an Oklahoma-based financial services holding company, with assets in excess of $12.4 billion. The Company operates three subsidiary banks, BancFirst, an Oklahoma state-charted bank with 106 banking locations serving 59 communities across Oklahoma, Pegasus Bank, with three banking locations in the Dallas Metroplex area and Worthington Bank with four locations in Tarrant County and one location in Denton County.
