Denton Economic Development Partnership Names New VP of Economic Development

The Denton Economic Development Partnership is proud to announce that Cory Lacy has accepted the position of Vice President, Economic Development. Lacy replaces Charlie Dromgoole, who served as Interim Vice President.

“With the rapid growth that Denton is currently experiencing, we knew it would be important to fill this position with an economic development professional who has the ability to establish relationships quickly and take action that supports our new strategic plan,” said Erica Pangburn, President, Denton Chamber of Commerce. “Cory understands Denton’s unique growth opportunities and we are confident this addition to our team will be an asset for the entire community.”

Lacy is a seasoned economic development, sales and commercial real estate professional. Lacy most recently served as the President of the Best Southwest Partnership. The Best Southwest Partnership is a cooperative effort among the founding partners of Cedar Hill, DeSoto, Duncanville, Lancaster, and various other community and business partners in southern Dallas and northern Ellis counties.

From 2003- 2016, Lacy worked for Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) in Fort Worth, Texas and was responsible for the management and oversight of a team dedicated to providing economic development services for JLL rail clients. Those services included project management, site selection, contract negotiation, process management and relationship building. Prior to joining JLL, Lacy owned an economic development consulting firm specializing in assisting economic development corporations, local governments and site selectors with strategic planning, labor analysis, and incentive policy creation and implementation. His prior experience includes business recruitment and retention, real estate acquisition, planning, permitting, financing, facility design and leasing.

Lacy is active in several organizations including the International Economic Development Council and the Texas Economic Development Council, serving on the board of directors from 2000-2005.

Lacy and his wife Megan live in the north Dallas area with their two dogs, Barnaby and Carli. They enjoy traveling and spending time with their family and friends.
