The Denton Chamber of Commerce advocates at many levels on behalf of Denton’s business community. As crucial as advocacy is for economic growth in Denton, very few businesses have the time to be away from the workplace to make trips to Austin, Washington, or even to meetings of the City Council or County Commissioners. The Denton Chamber is here to advocate for you as well as represent your voice when and where it is needed.

POLICY PRIORITIES

The Denton Chamber, on behalf of its members and affiliates, will pursue a pro‐growth agenda that will establish an environment that encourages entrepreneurship, workforce and economic development that enhances the community. The Chamber is committed to focusing on issues and priorities that foster a favorable business community and job growth in the region including streamlining processes. The Chamber will take a “long-term” perspective in all our advocacy efforts.

DENTON COUNTY DAYS

Denton County Days is designed to acquaint the state’s top elected decision-makers and key agency officials with the many assets of our county and heighten the overall image and visibility of the North Texas area. A joint project of the chambers of commerce of Denton County, the ultimate intent is to provide more exposure for area legislators, thus helping them to better represent the needs of their constituents. Since 1987, Denton County Days has been held in conjunction with every Regular Session of the Texas Legislature.

GOVERNMENT RELATIONS COMMITTEE

By joining the Government Relations Committee, you can:

  • Help pursue standing review of applicable issues, provide information to the general membership, and establish a concise avenue for surveys and feedback.

  • Prepare proposed suitable positions at all levels of government, coordinate advocacy as needed.

  • Coordinate events and initiatives to carry out open relations, i.e. candidate's questionnaire and forum, elected official's reception.
